The National Oil Corporation (NOC) is actively addressing an oil leak in a crude oil pipeline located south of Zawiya. Maintenance and emergency teams from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company are working to resolve the issue. Upon discovering the leak, immediate actions were taken, including halting production from the Hamada fields through this pipeline and closing a valve in Alriyayna. Flow valves at the Zawiya refinery were opened to reduce pressure on the affected pipeline.
Specialists are investigating the cause of the leak while arrangements for cleaning up and recovering spilled oil are underway. These efforts aim to address any environmental pollution that may result from the incident.
The NOC's Board of Directors, including its Chairman, is closely monitoring these efforts around the clock. They are overseeing maintenance preparations, site rehabilitation, and issuing directives as necessary.
