Several polling stations shut down Nov. 23 after there were arguments between the local candidates.

The four polling stations to shut down were located in Oued Amar, in El Djezzar, Batna.

The voting stations were able to reopen in three of the locations, however and the fourth in Zaayab stayed closed as a report was sent to the Attorney General at the Court of Batna, which is the appropriate authority to handle such a situation.

Mr. Bernou, the president of the Coordination of Permanence of Batna of the Independent High Authority of the elections, explained that the disagreements began in the morning and resulted in a necessary pausing of voting at those stations.

Representatives of the local HIISE became involved prior to the stations being opened again.

The voting operations have been proceeding smoothly in all other stations, according to sources.
