SONATRACH: Launch of Ouargla’s first training course in pipeline welding

Sonatrach issued the following announcement on Jan. 14.

The national SONATRACH company, in partnership with the Directorate of Training and Vocational Education of the wilaya of Ouargla, launched on Monday the first promotion of pipeline welding training for young people in the region.

The ceremony took place in Ouargla in the presence of Sonatrach’s CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour and Ouargla’s wali Abdelkader Djellaoui.

This training is part of a partnership between Sonatrach Group and the Directorate of Training and Vocational Education of the wilaya of Ouargla.

It is intended as an implementation of the instruction of the Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, “which gives a keen interest to the improvement of the local workforce in the wilayas of the South through the activation of training programs”, explains -your.

Thus, the SONATRACH group has provided an educational infrastructure equipped with adequate resources for the smooth running of this training program for the benefit of 43 trainees, for a period of six (6) months.

This training center is attached to the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP), training tool of SONATRACH group, and this, to ensure the proper conduct and monitoring of the training program that is provided by the executives of the national company hydrocarbons.

At the end of the course, this specialized professional training will be sanctioned by a certificate to facilitate the integration of young people into professional life and meet the needs of the hydrocarbon sector.

In this regard, Mr. Ould Kaddour highlighted the imperative to develop specialties in trades related to hydrocarbons such as welding.

“Why bring back Chinese or Filipinos to weld the pipelines? You believe that Algerians can not do it? We need to have specialties and develop our know-how, “he insisted.

In this sense, he reassured trainees of this first class that they will have a work contract, once the training is over: “This way, you can integrate easily into professional life,” he said.

In addition to the launch of this training, Sonatrach’s CEO visited the liquefied nitrogen production unit belonging to the private Calgaz Algeria, which also has a liquefied oxygen production unit in Laghouat.

With a capacity of 200 tonnes per day each, these two units use a production process of the latest generation.

These investments of tens of millions of dollars will allow Calgaz Algeria to position itself on the Algerian market as well as on the African market.

For 2019, Calgaz Algeria will proceed with the installation of two other industrial gas production units in Adrar and In Amenas.

Another production site, with a bottling center, is being planned in Mascara by the same company, which will be used to supply gaseous products under pressure for the industrial sectors, including the agri-food sector. , as well as for the medical sector.

The company aims to reach a production capacity of 1,000 tons per day from the beginning of 2020 and aims, in the short term, to export its products.

In addition, Mr. Ould Kaddour visited the two hospitals in the cities of Hassi Messaoud and Illizi (APS).
