Somaca issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.

Alpine enters the optics sector and creates Alpine Eyewear, its high-end eyewear brand made in France. Alpine Eyewear glasses are designed to provide visual comfort in everyday life and extend the Alpine experience beyond the car with glasses available in optics, sunglasses and sunglasses. Alpine Eyewear is for those looking to combine style and sportiness. The brand will be distributed worldwide, via optician networks and on the dedicated website.

Alpine glasses

For the development of its eyewear brand, Alpine selected the company 15-1 Diffusion, specializing in the creation of high-end eyewear. 15-1 Diffusion will ensure the production of frames, their manufacture and their distribution throughout the world. For its lenses, Alpine Eyewear has chosen to work with the French company Novacel, a benchmark in the sector.

Alpine Eyewear is available in several collections (sport / elegance) by offering different materials, colors, shapes and glass finishes. On the lens side, the expertise in optics brought by Novacel enables the development of high-end lenses, as well as new colors, notably the iconic Bleu Alpine. Airlis Shock lenses are particularly resistant to scratches and very easy to clean thanks to the super-antistatic, hydrophobic and oleophobic treatments.

Alpine Eyewear First Edition

The first collection created by Alpine Eyewear bears the name Première Edition in reference to the Alpine A110 Première Edition. As for the A110, this collection is a limited edition. Men and women frames will be offered in preview to 1955 Alpine First Edition customers.

The limited series incorporates the codes of the A110: lightness, sportiness and everyday comfort. They display a timeless look with a touch of sportiness.

The Alpine Eyewear Première Edition frames are entirely designed in brushed aluminum, the main material used in the structure of the A110. They will be available in two colors: black, Alpine blue as well as in a raw aluminum finish evoking the famous body of the A110.

Reminders of the design of the car are also present on the frames. For example, the branches resume the hollowed out shape of the doors, the arrowed A is inscribed on the hinges of the mounts and the design of the sleeves evokes the upholstery of the seats of the A110.

In addition, the interior of the branches underlines, thanks to its tricolor flag, that Alpine Eyewear is a 100% French brand. They will be offered for personalization for customers who will be able to have the text of their choice inscribed there and especially to number their frame among the 1955 numbers available.

Partner optician networks and a dedicated website

Alpine Eyewear Première Edition will be available to order in preview for customers of the A110 Première Edition from December 2019. For one month, customers of the Alpine Première Edition will be the only ones able to order this collection limited to 1955 customers. From January 2020, orders will be open to the general public while stocks last.

The glasses are available from € 279 incl.tax excluding optical correction.

Distribution will be provided by networks of partner opticians in France and worldwide, as well as on the website: www.alpine-eyewear.com.

For the Première Edition collection, customers order via the dedicated site www. alpine-eyewear.com. If the customer orders sunglasses without correction, he will receive his frame directly at his home. If he orders sunglasses or prescription glasses, they will be sent directly to our partner opticians. In France, distribution will be exclusive to Atol les Opticiens. To adapt the frame to his view, as well as to receive his glasses, the client will go directly to partner opticians.

Alpine Eyewear will launch new collections in 2020 and will thus enrich its offer in the optics sector.
