The House of Representatives and the State Council have begun discussions to bring about amendments to the Libyan Political Agreement that would make it conducive to both bodies.

The meeting was held in the Tunis Hotel with the help of the U.N. Support Mission in Libya.

U.N. Special Envoy Ghassan Salamé said these compromises are necessary for the good of all and to make the Libyan Political Agreement function properly. The Libyans are seeking out ways to reach new reconciliation, according to Salamé.

Salamé also said this was not simply an institution, but an event in which he hoped everyone would be able to voice their concerns and be heard.
