Workers at the Renault Group’s Renault Flins plant celebrate the 18 millionth vehicle produced there, an Intens version of a white ZOE made for the German firm Green City.

Electric Vehicle Program Director Eric Feunteun and Flins Factory Manager Jean Luc Mabire gave the keys to the ZOE to Oliver Weiss, Green City’s director.

The Flins plant began operations in 1952 and has produced 19 different car models, including the Nissan Micra and iconic cars such as the Renault 4 and 5 and the Clio vehicles. Handling both electric cars and the monoflux Nissan Micra line, the Flins plan serves as a great example for successful cross-manufacturing operations.

ZOE is the best-selling electric vehicle in Europe, according to the press release. It can travel 300 kilometers per charge in urban environments. A remake of the ZOE was introduced at the end of last year and sales are up 50 percent compared to the same time period last year.
