Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia is excited about books that he hopes will enhance the international image of his country.

The official opening of the 22nd edition of the Algiers International Book Fair took place at the Palais des Congress, where the prime minister commented on the books, stating that they were not being promoted because of their economic value but because he is hopeful that individuals will begin to see what the country has to offer.

Ouyahia also said that this will give individuals in other countries the opportunity to learn about the history of Algeria and the revolution, as well as the changes that the country has recently undergone.

The culture budget has doubled 12 times since the president arrived and the state is continuing to put a great deal of work into promoting the culture because of the young generation that needs an identity.
