NOC, Zawia Oil Refining officials discuss capital projects and more

Zawia Oil Refining Co. representatives recently met with leaders from three departments of Libya’s National Oil Corp. (NOC) at NOC’s industrial-zoned headquarters.

From NOC, manager Adel Ahmed Tawil represented the manufacturing department; and Salaheddin Dou Ali attended from the public accounts department. Additionally, several organizers from the budget and reporting department participated.

Zawia was represented by Kheireddin Abukhdeir, who serves as general manager of engineering and projects; Khalid Shaban Iyad, acting projects department manager; and Nasser Abulgasem Alhater, acting manager of accounts and study coordinator.

The consultation focused on already-approved capital projects and included discussion of challenges which Zawia Oil Refining Co. officials confronted in the course of employing previous capital budgets and programs.

Additionally, attendees discussed how the two companies’ financial departments could collaborate to enhance the facilitation of financial processes and better execute initiatives in alignment with procedure, legal requirements and decisions.

Following the discussion, NOC and Zawia delegates agreed to continue conducting meetings between the relevant departments on a regular basis to alleviate any future challenges which the firms might encounter.

Zawia is among the region’s largest oil refineries. Zawia Oil Refining Co. is a subsidiary of NOC and operates the Zawia refinery
