National Oil Corporation issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.
In response to fake news stories circulating in Libyan and international media today, Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) and National Oil Corporation (NOC) issue an official confirmation that no protests were made at its Hariga operations – either at the port, or AGOCO headquarters – in the last 48 hours. The company’s full denial is made to clarify and correct the recent reporting as certainly false; and to emphasize the importance of keeping Libya’s oil facilities and production outside polarized political conflict, in the media and in actuality.
