Morocco is starting a push for a gas project in which it will receive natural gas from Russia that will be imported into Morocco from the port of Jorf Lasfar in Jadida.

The agreement was signed between Morocco and Russia last week with the visit of the Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev, who stated that is would be important for Morocco to have this source of energy.

Minister of Economy and Finance Mohamed Boussaid said that Moroccan investors who are interested in developing the amount of exports to Russia’s market will be able to do so more easily as information can be sent prior to the arrival of products which will cut down the time in customs.

The Russian and Moroccan relations have long been in a stable position, in the areas of politics, diplomats, economy and trade and both fuel and grain industries from the Russians have greatly aided Morocco.
