Graduate student Omar Al-Mazouji recently presented a research paper concerning how to measure the cost of social responsibility of the Libyan Iron and Steel Co. to Chairman of the Board Mohammed Abdul Malik Al Faqih and Board Member Hussein Al-Jamal, as well as some other leaders in the company.

Al-Mazouji explained the interaction of the activities of the producer, the consumer and the local community, and the positive and negative factors associated.

Thanks to the work by Al-Mazouji, Libyan Iron and Steel Co. is motivated to create a branch for “social accounting” that will help company executives learn how their actions affect social development.
