Held in the city of Davao, the Philippines, the Kadayawan Festival is an annual celebration of the harvest, which is held the third week of August.

The traditional festival originated back into the local history of the natives of Davao, when they would join together at Mount Apo in order to pray and give sacrifices to Manama, their deity, offering rice, fruits and vegetables.

Today, the festival has some similarities, such as the dancing that took place back in native times, but now individuals wear costumes and participate in events such as a horse fight, the Miss Kadayawan beauty contest and the Mindanao Indigenous Dance Festival.
