The head of the Independent Electoral Monitoring Commission, Abdelwahab Derbel, spent part of a day in Bachar visiting local members of his government body.
Local elections will be held on Nov. 23.
Derbai said his government body is complying with the law so that the local elections can be carried out in a manner that is responsible and above board. He also stated that monitoring elections is something that all political figures should be a part of.
Derbai asked that the president of the Independent High Electoral Commission be available to monitor the individuals in press and media, so that positive messages will be circulated, rather than negative ones.
