Despite achieving the highest rate on the national baccalaureate level examination of 19.31, a Morocco woman was denied a scholarship from the nation’s first private medical university.

Iman spoke with Channel 2 and explained that she was never offered any form of congratulations or any offers of educational advancement aid from the Ministry of Education or any other group.

The women was curious as to why she was being singled out when other individuals who have scored well have been praised. She claims that she waited but never heard back from the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences — the first private medical university in Morocco — which gives scholarships to 20 percent of applicants based on social and academic standing.

The exceptional student will be expected to pay the same as other students unless she is accepted elsewhere; she has only applied to schools in Senegal and Morocco.
