Mr. Mohamed Karim MOUNIR, new President and CEO of Banque Centrale Populaire

The Board of Directors of Banque Centrale Populaire, meeting today, November 1, 2018, has ratified the appointment of Mr. Mohamed Karim MOUNIR as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Mohamed BENCHAABOUN, Minister of Economy and Finance, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the new President held at the headquarters of the Regional People’s Bank of Rabat, in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors of the BCP and the Steering Committee of Crédit Populaire du Maroc.

It was an opportunity for the Minister to recall the importance of the Crédit Populaire du Maroc in the banking landscape of the Kingdom, and to note its active and effective contribution to financial inclusion, the mobilization of savings and financing of the national economy. He also recalled the new continental dimension of the BCP Group and its role as a solidary financial player in the economies of the States where it operates.

Mr. Mohamed BENCHAABOUN then addressed to Mr. MOUNIR all his congratulations for the Royal Confidence and declared himself very reassured as for the prospects of development of the Institution, under the leadership of Mr. MOUNIR, man recognized for his professional competences and his human qualities and who has already had to demonstrate great managerial skills through a rich and diversified professional career, particularly in the BCP he joined since 1997.

The members of the Board of Directors of the BCP and the Steering Committee of the CPM then associated with the Minister to express their confidence and support to Mr. MOUNIR to continue the work of building a major financial group realized by a visionary management and employees totally impregnated by a culture and a spirit of belonging very strong.
