The Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council are of accord that there will be a unified educational system implemented in the Emirates federal system.

The goals of unifying the system are to bring a better level of education to students, make the nation more competitive and help raise up the next level of leaders. Schools will be closely monitored to ensure that they are following the regulations and policies of the Ministry of Education.

All textbooks are to be provided by the ministry for the 2017-2018 school year.

Tests will also be standardized across all grade levels in the areas of Islamic education, Arabic and social studies.
