The national hydrocarbons company SONATRACH has managed to keep the pandemic threat (Covid-19) at a low level within the company, thanks to the application of several measures, said its CEO, Toufik Hakkar , urging the various officials to maintain a high level of vigilance to protect workers and the production tool.
“SONATRACH, which from the onset of Covid-19 took the measure of the pandemic threat, has put in place a battery of regulatory measures and practical procedures to stem the spread of the virus within the company. The results recorded are generally satisfactory, our group managing to keep the pandemic threat at a low level ”, underlined Mr. Hakkar in a letter addressed to the workers of the company.
In this letter, Mr. Hakkar paid tribute to the medical teams and intervention personnel who are on the first front of the battle, ensuring to prevent, supervise and take care of the workers as part of the follow-up protocol. of the Covid – 19 pandemic established.
“Their abnegation is to be underlined and, above all, we owe it to ourselves, all of us, to facilitate their task by scrupulously respecting the barrier gestures within the company and outside”, he noted.
According to Mr. Hakkar, if the various protocols in progress make it possible to protect the company relatively against the expansion of the pandemic threat, “this is not sufficient to guarantee optimal security, especially if some of our colleagues succumb to the ambient relaxation. and do not take their precautions outside the company ”.
In this context, he added that “the persistence of a very dangerous phenomenon” has been observed in certain workers who return to their workstations without going through the medical center, while they present flu-like symptoms likely to '' be caused by contamination with Covid-19, or that they have been in contact with people around them who have contracted the coronavirus.
“This behavior constitutes a serious threat to the safety of all our collectives, and as such, calls for a generalized awareness, because the current degraded health situation gives rise to fears that these unconscious agents contaminate a large number of their colleagues. and in so doing, inducing a dangerous impact on our health as a whole and on the continuity of our activities ”, he warned.
A high level of vigilance required
To this end, he urged those in charge of structures, directors and local managers, so that they “show more involvement in the supervision of collectives and show the greatest rigor in terms of their work. awareness of the absolute obligation placed on them to respect barrier measures everywhere and in all places ”.
Also, he “solemnly urged these officials to maintain a high level of vigilance and to comply, within and outside the company, with the strictest respect for barrier measures”.
Thus, any agent tested positive for Covid-19, showing flu-like symptoms or having been in contact with an infected person, must “imperatively go through the medical center of his or her home structure which, alone, is authorized to do so. authorize or not to return to his workstation ”.
“It is through our responsible membership and our disciplined behavior that we will put all the chances on our side to stem the spread of the coronavirus and reduce as much as possible the level of exposure of our company to the danger of massive contamination with Covid- 19 ”, added Mr. Hakkar.
He, in this wake, affirmed that “the hour is sensitive and each one of us is called upon to take the full measure of the viral threat and behave accordingly to protect himself, protect his family and all of us. these partner'work".
The CEO of SONATRACH further underlined that “Algeria is experiencing a worrying increase in the number of coronavirus contaminations, which prompted the country's senior authorities to sound the alarm and warn about the risk that our country will undergo in the coming days a severe wave of contamination with its dramatic implications on the lives and on the economy of the country ”.
