Sonatrach issued the following announcement on April 4.
SONATRACH successfully proceeded on April 02, 2020, to gas the GR7 / 48 '' “Expansion of STC GR5” gas pipeline with a length of 344 km connecting the Cutting station N ° 4 (PC4) located in El Menia in the wilaya of Adrar at the Cutting Station N ° 7 of Hassi R'mel in the wilaya of Laghouat. The construction works were carried out in very good conditions.
The project was carried out to receive collections from the new South West fields (Hassi Mouina Sud & Nord and Hassi Ba Hamou) and transport them to the National Gas Dispatching Center of Hassi R'mel (CNDG).
As a reminder, the realization of the GR7 gas pipeline is the result of a 100% Algerian consortium:
- The construction of the structure was totally entrusted to Algerian Companies in this case, COSIDER Canalisations and ENAC.
- The tubes intended for the construction of this structure were manufactured by ALFAPIPE and the control and monitoring of the manufacturing process were carried out by GTP.
The design capacity of this pipeline is 4 billion Sm3 / year, it will raise the Natural Gas capacity of SONATRACH on the Pipeline Transport System of the Reggane - Hassi R'mel (GR5) Pipeline to around 13 billion Sm3 / year.
