Sonatrach issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
The national oil company SONATRACH and the French energy group ENGIE have entered into medium-long-term agreements for the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas and natural gas pipelines, SONATRACH said in a statement.
These agreements were initialed, for the Algerian side, by the vice-president in charge of the marketing activity, Ahmed Mazighi, and for the French side, by the business unit director Global Energy Management, Edouard NEVIASKI, in the presence of the P-dg SONATRACH, Kamel Eddine Chikhi, and ENGIE Deputy General Director Pierre CHAREYRE.
"Through these agreements, both parties confirm and consolidate the long-term partnership. SONATRACH will deliver volumes of natural gas in the form of gaseous gases entering the Transmediterranean gas pipeline, as well as liquefied natural gas (LNG), in particular at the FosTonkin LNG terminal in France, "the source added.
"These agreements will secure an outlet for Algerian gas in its natural market, which is in the current context of increased competition between different sources of supply, one of the most rewarding markets," added the Compagnie Nationale. (APS)
