Somaca recently issued the following announcement.
Renault F1 Team salutes and joins the strategy announced by Formula One on November 12, 2019 which aims to take voluntary goals of decarbonization of the entire sport by 2030.
This announcement completes with a long-term aspiration vision the transformation plan initiated by the sport starting from the season 2021, which is based on the evolution of the sports and technical regulations and the creation of a financial regulation which will reward the economic efficiency of the teams. To remain synonymous with progress, the Formula 1 had to evolve in order to keep its avant-garde character, coherent with the evolutions and the challenges of the company. Carbon neutrality is obviously a major issue, and mobilizing around this collective goal the thousands of engineers who work in Formula 1 and the millions of fans is an excellent initiative.
The design of the Formula 1 sustainable development plan was the subject of consultation with several teams, including Renault F1 Team, through the sharing of data and precise guidelines. Renault F1 Team will actively engage Formula One in the implementation of this plan while developing and deploying its own actions, within a social and sustainable impact program developed in close collaboration with the Group's strategy. Renault. Our program is structured around two dimensions, the environment and the human.
While contributing to the Formula 1 sustainable development plan, this program will develop two specific focuses on its environmental dimension: the circular economy and sustainable mobility. Our collaboration in the design and development of modern hybrid E-TECH Plug-In type drives for Renault production vehicles is a concrete example of our approach and commitment. The human aspect of our plan is based on the notion of transmission.
We will be sharing more details during the year 2020 about our program and associated projects.
