Sonatrach recently issued the following announcement.

The national oil company, SONATRACH, will continue to place the partnership with international companies wishing to invest in Algeria, at the center of its development strategy, said its CEO, Rachid Hachichi.

In a letter he sent to SONATRACH staff on the occasion of International Workers' Day, Hachichi said the partnership was a "historic and strategic choice" for his group.

" Our group will continue to develop its partnership relations with international companies wishing to invest in Algeria. The partnership which constitutes a historical and strategic choice of our group, is a major element in our development strategy and particularly in the field of exploration and production ", he argued.

According to Mr. Hachichi, the SONATRACH group "will continue to work to strengthen partnership relations, based on mutual respect, in order to improve its hydrocarbon discovery and exploitation capabilities, both onshore and offshore ".

In office on April 24, Mr. Hachichi affirmed his commitment to work to "continue the development of SONATRACH, a company which, since its creation, has continued to contribute to the economic and social development of our country".

For him, SONATRACH, like other oil companies, which operate in complex trades and evolve in an uncertain and highly volatile environment, "needs today, to mobilize all its energies and forces to face the challenges and to ensure the long-term energy security of Algeria, through the development of all the hydrocarbon resources contained in our mining domain ".

To do this, the group must "think and act, in the short and medium terms, to achieve production and marketing objectives through rational management of resources, while staying the course in the long term through a clear vision and shared, "he explains.

" Today, SONATRACH is more in demand to continue to play its role as the engine of the national economy, particularly because of the economic situation in our country, " he said.

In this context, he emphasized the need to "focus significant efforts on renewing reserves and improving the production of hydrocarbons and their derivatives".

" I am reassured and completely convinced that we have a human resource, competent and qualified, to the extent of the ambitions set by our group, to improve and consolidate its rank of major player in the hydrocarbon sector as well as national than international, "he said.

Believing that SONATRACH's human resources constitute a "certain and lasting value", Mr. Hachichi is committed to "improving working conditions, consolidating professional achievements, respecting rights and their exercise, within the framework of the regulations and to guarantee equal opportunities ".

This will, he wrote, "that everyone contributes to the development of our group whose strategic importance for the national economy is well established".

Hachichi also ensured its commitment to work to "improve the overall professional climate so that everyone can find an environment conducive to the exercise of their function or profession in respect of professional mechanisms and instruments in force, reinforced by a reciprocal trust relationship.
