Somaca issued the following announcement on Dec. 10.
Dacia Duster is equipped with the new 1.3 turbo direct injection turbo engine in 130 hp and 150 hp versions, co-developed by the Alliance and Daimler.
This new engine offers a significant gain in terms of driving pleasure, with better low-end torque and higher, consistent high-end availability. It meets the highest requirements in terms of reliability and durability.
The 1.3 TCe FAP engine incorporates innovations developed in recent years within the Alliance. For example, Bore Spray Coating technology improves efficiency by reducing friction and optimizing thermal conductivity. Other technologies optimize engine approval and reduce fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions, such as the direct injection of gasoline whose pressure has been increased to 250 bar and whose mixing with air has been optimized thanks to a specific design of the combustion chamber. In addition, the "Dual Variable Timing Camshaft" technology, which controls the intake and exhaust valves according to engine loads, provides more low-end torque and more available torque, in a linear, high-revving manner.. This results in a significant gain for our customers in terms of driving pleasure and better times.
The 1.3 TCe 130 engine offers a torque of 240 Nm (+ 5hp and + 35 Nm of torque compared to the former 1.2 TCe 125) and 250 Nm in 150 hp. Equipped with a particulate filter (DPF), the 130 and 150 horsepower versions each emit 138 grams of CO 2 emissions certified under the new WLTP protocol.
The orders are open on the 4x2 versions, and will be on the 4x4 versions running in 2019.
