Economist Najib Aksabi recently explained that Morocco imports grain whether it rains or not.
Aksabi explained Morocco always imports 30 to 40 million quintals of grain. The Moroccan economy is, therefore, very dependent on the rainfall of the country and the failure of the development model of Morocco in the 60 years since independence shows how much the economy and rainfall are connected.
"The rate of growth reported by the government will not be achieved, 'noting that' it will have an impact on production and unemployment and the standard of living of the population and the prices of food," Aksabi said.
