The Presidential Council of the National Reconciliation Government recently organized a panel discussion to cover topics of economic and financial importance.
The meeting was formed to discuss economic and financial reform programs with the Central Bank of Libya and the Audit Bureau to bring up topics of importance as well as discuss the topics with industry experts, businessmen, the media and other interested groups.
The meeting looked over the components of the economic reform program, as designed by the Committee of 20, created by the Presidential Decree No. 231 in 2017, as well as discussing the economic and financial reform program designed by the Presidential Council and the undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and the Libyan Oil Corp.
One of the presentations was made by the director of the Research Department at the Central Bank of Libya in which he brought up topics including the support of the National Oil Corp., perfecting the exchange rate and setting and equilibrium rate, reviewing support policies for a support replacement program and reviewing and refining trade policies and anti-smuggling programs.
All the parties in attendance agreed to addressing and fixing certain areas of concern, including dealing with the crisis and the reform measures and the urgency of such matters.
