The regional theater of Oran in western Algeria presented the first honorary showing of the opera "Fajr and Guillotine" on Oct. 31 to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the liberation revolution.
The opera was crafted by author and novelist Ezzedine Mihoobi, Directorate of Culture of Oran Blaui Hawari, and 20 singers and performers from the city of Bahia.
The 90-minute show tells of the trial of the Martyr of the Mausoleum, Ahmed Zehane, otherwise known as Zabana, prior to his execution.
The opera will be performed in a number of other theaters after its debut in Oran.
