The Federation of Democratic Workers, the union arm of the Socialist Union Party, held a national march on Oct. 16 to protest attacks that had been carried out by the Saad al-Din Ottoman government.
The federation's statement said the march was a realization of the will of the people who wanted to stop the attacks on trade union rights and freedoms that some governments seek to impose.
Another factor is the desire to overcome the marginalized groups of people who suffer from increases in prices, poor compensation and high taxes.
The Central Office of the Federation asked that all union officials of national democratic trade union and local associations take part in the march on Oct. 16 to bring awareness to a situation that the federation fears is worsening.
