The Minister of National Education, Nuria Ben-Gabrit, said there is a serious need to have more options for individuals with special needs in the educational system.
The minister said having enough resources and help for individuals in this category was key if students are going to be able to live full and involved lives after school. There will need to be more training and planning for teachers so that they can address the needs of special needs students.
"This action comes in view of the need for professionalism and efficiency to deal with the special needs group as well as within the principle of equal opportunity, which includes all segments and all regions across the state," the minister said.
