A road accident took place on N6 between Reggan and Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the state of Adrar on September 21, taking the lives of 17 individuals and injuring five.

The accident was caused by two vehicles that collided at Km Marker 400. Among the deaths were 11 foreigners and six Algerians, according to Col. Farouk Achour. Four of the individuals injured were foreigners. 

Victims of the incident were taken to the hospital in Bordj Badji Mokhtar by the Civil Protection and National Gendarmerie services which were called to the scene of the accident.

There are still investigations underway to look into the causes of the accident.
