A new messaging technology has broken ground throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa -- and it's now enjoying some prominence in regional media.
In August, Appmahal announced successful financing for the company after the unveiling of its social app discovery platform. Now, a new product called Sila -- the first messaging platform tailored to users in the Arab world -- is gaining ground in countries like Tunisia and Egypt.
High Google store ratings and other indicators show vibrant interest in this company's products.
“Sila was launched on March 2017, and has already reached 2 million users,” Appmahal Marketing Director Mona Haddad told Maghreb News Wire on Sept. 19.
Haddad talked about elements of the success of the Palestinian-based company.
“First of all, it's the users’ support, and our communication with our community,” Haddad said. “The company’s team is proud of their close interaction with Sila’s users, which has enabled them to build a tailor-made platform that puts the needs of Arabic-speaking consumers first. Our community loves Sila, we are top-rated in the Play Store 4.6, and we always consider our users' reviews when we develop the app and release new versions.”
Haddad also cited a very professional team of developers who are very experienced in mobile apps.
As for corporate values, Haddad considers a deep emphasis on user experience to be essential. It’s important, Haddad said, to allow users to use instant messaging and to communicate with each other without worrying about their privacy. That’s accomplished, Haddad said, partially through encryption.
Also, Haddad said, the company wants to create as good a chat experience for Arabic-speaking users as possible, and provide them with relevant content.
“This starts with an Emoji keyboard and stickers, and will keep on developing, of course,” Haddad said.
Haddad also spoke about successfully attracting investment.
“We have just completed a $4 million round of financing,” Haddad said. “The funds and support from our strong group of investors will position us exceptionally well for executing our vision of providing the Arabic-speaking users with a unique experience in a platform that meets all of their needs – from correspondence with loved ones to communication with a wide variety of service providers.”
