A new driver for Renault's Formula One team has been named.
Carlos Sainz Jr., who is 23 years old, will be coming to the position with sufficient experience as he has 100 career points and four sixth-place finishes in his three-season-career.
Additionally, for the first time, Renault is motorizing the McLaren team. This change will be in place for 2018-2020. By partnering with McLaren, Renault will be able to provide their renowned engines to McLaren, which may lead to even more F1 success.
Cyril Abiteboul, GM of Renault's F1 team, said this is a wise choice for the company and is optimistic about the possibility of it bringing their relationship with McLaren to new heights.
