Algeria has ratified the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives for 2015.
The goal of the agreement is to produce consistency when it comes to physical-chemical and tasting aspects that olive oils and other table oils possess, both at the national and international levels. Part of achieving the goal includes having the right production steps in process and the appropriate measures for trade to be carried out.
In addition to bringing a better quality of olive oil to the market, the agreement stands to strengthen the bonds of the International Olive Council and International Scientific Group for olives and the studies of olives.
The agreement was initially entered into by Algeria in Geneva on Oct. 9, 2015.
