Algeria's Ministry of Industry and Mining organized a seminar to discuss the starting of an agro-food cluster in Mitidja that will be used to develop the industry in Algeria and bolster the economy.
The competitiveness cluster will be made up of entities including manufacturers, agricultural producers, and investment innovation support institutions. The clusters will allow for additional support due to the cooperation between Algeria and the European Union through the system of the Support Program for the Implementation of the Association Agreement.
The overall goal of the competitiveness cluster is to increase the number of jobs in the industry and bring about more research in both the public and private realms.
The seminar, which was held Sept. 12, was attended by over 200 individuals from the industry and from around the world.
