French Interior Minister Gerard Colomb said there have been 11 foiled terrorist attacks in France since the beginning of the year.
The minister said that Barcelona's tragedy could just have easily have happened in France and that there is a constant need for the anti-terrorism project from the government to promote both safety and freedom, including that it seems to be a "permanent state of emergency."
A bill will be taking the place of the extraordinary emergency regime, which was put in place after the November 2015 attacks. The Minister said that the directorate-general of internal security ought to stay aware and involved to prevent all forms of threat, from espionage, cyber threats and more.
