The Moroccan Ambassador to Mexico, Mohamed Shafiki, has confirmed there were no Moroccan casualties in the Mexican earthquake.
The death toll has increased to over 90.
The earthquake was 8.4 in magnitude and struck at sea, southwest of Tres Picos. Though Mexico City did not sustain substantial damages, the quake was felt by residents of the city and electricity outages were reported.
Mexico's worst earthquake, in terms of casualties, as in 1985 when 10,000 people were killed in an 8.1 earthquake.
Moroccan citizens living in Mexico are able to contact the embassy if need be.
