Algerian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdelaziz Ben Ali Shareef on Sept. 8 said officials are very concerned about the violence that has been reported on in Myanmar in which Rohingya Muslims are being attacked while trying to flee the country.
The government of Myanmar should be protecting these individuals, according to the statement, and the acts of violence should be brought to the forefront of the government's mind so that changes can be brought about in a timely manner.
The U.N. Security Council and the High Commissioner for Refugees is working diligently to bring about peace and stop the violence against this minority group.
