Though they were catastrophic to a number of cities across the Caribbean Islands and the United States, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma did not cause any deaths among Moroccan expatriates.
Hurricane Harvey struck Texas and Hurricane Irma struck Florida, but the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Washington D.C. and the Consulate General of New York were pleased to report that there had been no Moroccan lives lost.
The Moroccan community was encouraged to follow the recommended rules of safety surrounding the storms.
Following the disasters, the Moroccan Embassy issued its condolences to those who were affected by the storms. The Embassy is also organizing a mobile consulate to help individuals who lost their personal documents during the storms.
