The National Oil Corp. (NOC) is grateful to the RADA Special Deterrence Force for its work that helped lead to the arrest of Fehmi Salim Ben Khalifa, who is thought to be one of the most wanted of hydrocarbon smugglers in Libya.
The NOC has been responsible for creating committees to stand against smugglers and are dedicated to the mission as they have mourned the loss of individuals who have died due to smugglers' actions.
The NOC was able to give information to the Bureau of the Attorney General and the U.N. Security Council Experts Committee, such as the names of tankers that were used in smuggling, names of the smugglers themselves and how many trucks were employed in the operations.
Hydrocarbon smuggling is a huge problem against both the Libyan economy and the Libyan people as it destabilizes the country and steals precious resources.
Fehmi Salim Ben Khalifa is considered a person of interest within a group of criminals.
