A meeting was held Thursday at the palace in Algiers between the General Union of Algerian Workers and Employers and Algerian government officials.

The meeting was to prepare for the tripartite meeting, and was the first of its kind since the new government leadership of Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

The employers were represented by the General Confederation of Algeria, the Forum of Heads of Establishments, the National Federation of General Contractors, the National Confederation of Algerian Employers, the Federation of Algerian Industrialists and Producers, the Algerian Confederation of Employers, the National Federation of Investors, the General Federation of Employers -- Construction, Public Works and Irrigation, and the General Assembly of Algerian Contractors.

It is hoped that a dialogue can be carried out between the parties mentioned.
