The Directorate of Banking Supervision and Supervision of Bank Al-Maghrib has received 321 applications for bank accounts that are in the possession of individuals who are deceased.
This data was circulated by the Al-Sabah newspaper and explained that the requests had been made by heirs who are trying to take inventory of their loved ones' accounts. Such applications can be made in one of two ways: sending a letter to the directorate of banking supervision or filing an application at the directorate's headquarters or a branch of the bank are both acceptable methods to gain access to such information.
Funds from dormant accounts will be transferred to the public treasury after five years of inactivity.
