A Libyan Boeing 737 took off for the Masala oil field from Benina International Airport on July 20, ending three years of suspension.
Mohamed Belkacem Ben Shouan gave a speech, thanking the Civil Aviation Authority as well as honoring individuals who have died in defense of their country.
Present at the ceremony were several managers and Abdul Hamid Al Barasi, director general of the Civil Aviation Authority.
With the airport officially back in business, there are many anticipated needs for both international and domestic flights that will bring business to this Libyan airport.
